Youth Ministries

Olivet youth and young adults exist to "Bring glory to God in everything we say, think and do."  We call ourselves "ER" which stands for "Eternally Redeemed."  This name is a snapshot of what we care about most... young men and women knowing that they have a life-giving, love relationship with Jesus Christ. 

The youth group is about learning and living this relationship.  What does that look like?  It's accepting each other for who they are and encouraging one another through love and service.  It's celebrating life and lifting each other up in prayer.  It's making the Bible the centre piece of life.

There are several times that the youth group meet during the week, as well as special events.  These are all posted on the Event Calendar.  A description of the meetings are below.

Pastor Matt is the Associate/Youth Pastor and leads most groups.  He is available to chat throughout the week.

Sunday School – Grade 6 to Young Adult

Sunday School meets from September to June starting at 10:00 am.   There is no Sunday School in July and August.

The Youth are walking through the new testament using selected passages according to the daily readings found in the planners given out at the church. we expect this to last into July 2010. Join us any time we welcome new students at any time. 

     Cornerstone - Tear through the Bible, while cutting it straight!  This Jr. youth class helps build a strong foundation in God's Word.

     Life in Christ - We ask the hard questions with humility.  This Sr. youth class' mission is to prepare young adults for the life altering conversations they are having with their peers.

Meltdown!  - ALL Youth Grade 6 and Up   

Junior & Senior youth come together to be challenged in their faith and in their capacity for fun!  Games, mix and mingle time, faith stories, prayer and an age relevant time in God's Word.  This group meets every other Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.

J.O.Y (Junior Olivet Youth) – Grade 6 to 9 Small Group
 
Every other Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, Jr. youth are invited to gather at the church and share experiences, laugh, eat, study God's Word, and build each other up in Christ. Anyone is welcome to join in the fun!

Bereans (Senior Youth) – Grade 9 to Young Adult Small Group

We meet every other Thursday night 7:00 - 8:30 pm. at Pastor Matt's house. It's an atmosphere of relationships and support with a faith challenging topic each meeting.  Prayer and discussion are central to this ministry. The Sr. youth laugh, eat, and learn from God's Word.

Focus

For those who want to go further... This group goes in depth in both the Bible and everyday topics.  If you are interested in joining this group, please speak to Pastor Matt!

Special Events

Stay tuned and stay in touch!  Some events include: Paintballing, shopping trip to the city, summer beach and water sports, tobogganing, camping, theme events, and so much more throughout the year!
